August 2014 played host to the third session of four in the 2014 YES Management Training Program.  MTI was pleased to have associate member GeoCorp and commercial heat treater Euclid Heat Treating open their plants for all 30 of MTI’s 2014 class to experience.

Almost every YES executive states each year that the plant tours offer some of the best value of the YES program.  The participants get to see a fresh perspective on how to do business, see new ideas in operation, quality, lean strategies, and day to day operations. Each plant did a great job of showcasing what makes them important to their marketplace. At the conclusion of each tour, YES students had a chance to ask questions on what they saw in the plant.

In between plant tours on the middle day, the YES team took part in a full day of training on Business Intelligence with Dr. Rick Marks and How to Deploy Effective Lean Manufacturing Strategies in Your Plant with Larry Rubrich. Many stated this has been the best of the three sessions so far because it helped them get beneath the operations and into the minds of their people.

Session four will take place at the MTI Fall Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee where the class will graduate together.

MTI is in the midst of opening up registration for the 2015 YES Management Training class.
