MTI Volunteers Make Big Things Happen

posted on 04.03.12

The heart of any non-profit is the passion of the volunteers who want to make a difference.  MTI’s President, Buster Crossley from Texas Heat Treating, was recently quoted as saying, “In most organizations, they live on the 80/20 rule where 20% of the people do 80% of the work.  Not true in MTI.  We have many volunteers from all across North American helping make big things happen in technical standards, driving more outsourcing business from captives to commercials, making our benchmarking systems more real time and efficient and enhancing our training and safety areas.”

Volunteer involvement is a true testament as to how members feel about MTI and the difference it can help make in their daily lives.  The Board of Trustees encourages all members to consider volunteering and becoming more active.  The energy and rewards you gain from interacting with other people is invaluable, not to mention the new ideas you learn in the process.

MTI has made it easy for anyone to serve through conference calls and the Online Discussion groups in the members only area.  MTI CEO, Tom Morrison, always states, “our goal with our communication strategy is to give the smallest member in the most remote location an opportunity to participate in their industry.  Participation is affordable, convenient and anytime at MTI.”

The following is a list of MTI’s working committee members.  We would like to say Thank You to all of them for their time, investment and efforts to help MTI enhance the image and profitability of the Metal Treating Institute:
