With any non-profit trade association, it takes a band of committed volunteers to achieve success, have a positive impact on the industry, drive member value and maximize membership engagement.  MTI is a picture of what volunteerism should look like.  MTI has many volunteers across the country who serve on the Board of Trustees, committee groups, task force groups and affiliated groups.

At the recent MTI Fall Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, members were recognized during MTI’s Leadership and Service Awards Dinner for the current and on-going achievements with the heat treat industry and the Metal Treating Institute.   Below are the recipients for the respective awards.

MTI also recognized retiring Board of Trustees that included, David Carpenter, Southwest Specialty Heat Treat,  Earl Pack, Hudapack Metal Treating of Il., Inc., John E. Vanas, Euclid Heat Treating Company, Kathryn Byington, Byington Steel Treating, Inc. and 2013 President Jim Roberts, Eclipse Combustion, Inc..

At the conclusion of the awards ceremony, MTI announced the 2015 Executive Committee to include Treasurer, Tim Levy from Industrial Steel Treating, Immediate Past President Bob Hill from Solar Atmospheres of Western PA, President Elect Pat McKenna from Nevada Heat Treating and 2015 President Jackie Peters from Peters’ Heat Treating.

Commercial Heat Treater of the Year:  Byington Steel Treating, Inc.

Emerging Leader of the Year:  Jamie Jones from Solar Atmospheres

Award of Industry Merit:  Rich Penrose from California Brazing

M. Lance Miller Legend Award:  Chet Walthall from Heat Treaters, Inc.

Distinguished Service Award:  Jim Roberts from Eclipse Combustion, Inc.

President’s Award:  Patrick McKenna from Nevada Heat Treating, Inc.
